The surfacing works at Barnoldby have been successfully completed, delivering a high-quality and durable finish to the driveway area.
The project was undertaken to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the entrance, providing a stable, long-lasting surface that meets modern standards.
Project Scope
The scope of the project included:
Surface Preparation: Initial cleaning, leveling, and preparation of the existing base to ensure optimal adhesion and durability of the applied materials.
Binder Course Application: Installation of a 60mm AC20 binder layer to provide a strong and stable foundation.
Surface Course Application: A 30mm 6SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) surface course was applied for a smooth and polished finish, designed for resilience against weather and wear.
Key Deliverables
1. Durability: The 60mm AC20 binder course ensures a robust structural base capable of withstanding heavy loads and long-term usage.
2. High-Quality Finish: The 30mm 6SMA surface course delivers an aesthetically pleasing and smooth finish while offering excellent skid resistance.
3. Improved Drainage: Careful grading and alignment were implemented to prevent water pooling and ensure proper drainage.
Foulston and Smith
Project Overview
In December, Cathedral Surfacing was entrusted with an important project in Waddingham, where we were tasked with laying both the binder and surface course tarmac for a new build estate on behalf of our valued client, Foulston and Smith.
Our experienced team delivered exceptional results, utilisingour high-quality paving machine to apply two layers of premium tarmac. The process began with the installation of a robust 70mm layer of AC20 Dense Binder Macadam (DBM), ensuring a strong and durable foundation. This was followed by the precise application of a 30mm surface course layer of AC10, providing a smooth and aesthetically pleasing finish that is built to last.
As always, we paid careful attention to the details, ensuring the area was left clean, tidy, and ready for the future homeowners. The completed surfacing will not only enhance the estate’s functionality but also contribute to the overall appeal of the new community.
